Delores Fisher and "moon "photo op"
Such fun!!! Celebrating a serious topic with several light touches, this year's San Diego Comic Fest was dedicated to the historic world culture changing Apollo 11 moon landing 50, yes, 50 years ago https://airandspace.si.edu/explore-and-learn/topics/apollo/apollo-program/landing-missions/apollo11.cfm
A venue change to the Four Points by Sheraton hotel did not deter Comic Fest 2019 goers. Attendance soared! The now much coveted Fest T shirts sold out on the first day.
Many of you know the story behind the creation of San Diego Comic Fest.https://www.sdcomicfest.org/ Smaller and more intimate in scale, San Diego Comic Fest allows for fan, presenter interaction on a less hectic level. I enjoy talking to followers of my work as well as networking with other presenters. This year, I presented with Ian P. Duckett pop culture mavin, cosplayer, disability advocate, and podcaster.
Our official panel presentation description is:
Since the later half of the twentieth century, African American and African Diaspora film actors have portrayed extra-terrestrials, pivotal characters (mythological or "real"), minor exotic diversions, and have given voice to animation personas from the big screen to video games. Time travelling through select TV shows, box office hits and grade B- to C+ films, pulp-culture mavin Ian Duckett and blogger-lecturer Delores Fisher will discuss several African American actors and their characters' visual representations in genres such as Sci-fi, Superhero, Ethno-horror, Fantasy, Video games, and TV shows. Ian Duckett will discuss Ivan Dixon, Roscoe Lee Brown, Angela Bassett, and Whoopi Goldberg while Delores Fisher will discuss Rae Dawn Chong, Gina Torres, Idris Elba, and Laurence Fishburne.

A few days later, we posed for this photo. We continued to discuss our research and began to explore other possible panel ideas for the future. This eventually evolved into an ongoing topic exploration late into the evening. Our conversations with several other Comic Fest 2019 cosplayers, panelists, and tech crew evolved into a raucous fun filled project proposal for Comic Fest 2020. .

Oh yea . . . I may possibly be working with Who Con and at least two possible student led panels at the upcoming 2019 San Diego Who Con this coming October http://www.sdwhocon.com/
I also got an interview with the hip hop culture inspired writer and graphic artist Corwyn Matthew.
For those of you ordering his books online, be patient. Some vedors are already sold out for his latest venture that he discusses in our interview.
He's a fan of the Ice Cube Friday film franchise, especially the Christmas one!
